I had a wonderful birthday eve with HIM.

HE gave me a big birthday surprise on my birthday eve.
While waiting for HIM to prepare the dinner, I was doing my data analysis.
Mrs eyes stared at the laptop screen and looked for significant results.
Miss stomach growled loudly and urged Mr nose to search for fragrant smell.

Finally, main course and beverage were being served.
Carbonara seafood fettuccine and apple dragon fruit juice''
Just have one word to describe: Fantastic !!!

Hungry piggy continued filling up her stomach with dessert.
Jelly tower''
Various flavours comprise of longan, strawberry, orange, dragon fruit and sour plum.
Needles to say, it was Yummy !!!

After having such a wonderful dinner, I continued with my work until my heavy eyelids ordered me go to bed.
"Happy birthday to you !!!"
HE surprised me with a lovely birthday cake brought from the bakery shop which I will sure visit each time when I was in the Garden or Pavillion.

"Pasta & cake, that's all that I told HIM before, so these should be all my birthday presents laa. Hehe.. more than enough, is time to sleep luu.."
My little heart felt so touching and happy with all the preparation HE did for me.
Just when I wanted to close my eyes and prepare to date with Uncle Chou, HE surprised me again with another unexpected birthday present.

Thanks HUBBIE for all the birthday surprise.

Before entering the age of 25, JJ gained some special experiences in her 24th .. Took part in a small singing contest with dude for the 1st time and won a consolation prize .. Involved in a commercial shooting at Hulu Langat .. Learnt to communicate with different people from different fields, different ages and different backgrounds .. Everyone has his/her own story ..

CK - the person who provided JJ the opportunity of getting involved in commercial shooting plus free transportation .. wink*.. owed him a meal ..

JJ with the other extra talents - obviously, Hazellnut is the typical China-moi among them .. with Calvin Khairul, the China-apek .. wink* ..

Si comel - JJ like this si comel very much .. enjoyed the moment playing Bing Bong Chiak with her .. Hello, kak Hazell~~~ nut" .. cutie face with sweetie voice, she is angel .. wink*..

CNY 2010

Time fled fast, CNY is going to end soon.

Many of JJ's friends asked JJ how was her CNY,

The typical answer gave by JJ: "Not much special, but really have a good rest."

Indeed, JJ had a good rest during the CNY.

JJ slept soundly without missing-out her 8 hours sleep everyday for 1 week.

This is the most PRECIOUS CNY's angpow which JJ ever had.

Had a great time with friends and family.

Appreciated every moment spent with them.

Now, JJ will smile alone when think back the laughter she had with her friends, the silly words spoke by her brother.

No doubt, JJ sure will miss them even more deeply once JJ starts her real data collection.

Anyway, JJ had a meaningful 2010 CNY as spent a day with the orphans in Zoo Negara.

Truly thanks to JJ's friend who invited her to join the activity.

JJ gained something from the day.

Filled up with joy, happiness and gratification abundantly.

午觉醒来，发现自己眼湿湿的，心揪揪的，原来自己在睡梦里哭了。。
太扯了吧，哪有人会累到哭，看来自己真是白痴嘞。。

表面上很强啊，觉得自己是可以应付得来，说真的，其实是可以啊，真的还是在自己能力范围内，可是，看来忘了自己是人类，不时机器，所以真的会人“累”。。

双子座的人有双面性格，有时候觉得自己真得好双子嘞。。
上一秒，可以很认真积极地工作，像强人似的，下一秒，EQ可以掉到几乎等于零，脑袋里装着的都是满满的负极符号。。

可是自己又不是处女座的，干嘛老是要事事做到没瑕疵，老弟明明就是处女座，干嘛总觉得他就没这样。。或许，应该要时不时听听蔡依林的歌，“睁一只眼，闭一只眼。。”，学一学她“旋转，跳跃，我闭着眼。。”

需要别人帮忙，就得开口问啊，不然谁晓得你需要帮忙，笨蛋。。
不要每次别人问，“你一个人可以吗？”“可以啊”答得好轻松，心里面是想着不想麻烦人家，可是，就连当爸爸问：“不重吗？真的可以拿到？”也会左手拿着三包，右手提着两包，后面背着一大包，然后对爸爸说：“看，我真的可以拿到。。”
“ 你是可以拿到啦，不过就是拿得好辛苦咯，放着啦，我帮你拿，矮婆。。” 每次听到弟弟这么说，虽然他嘴巴偶尔很贱，可是心里是觉得自己超幸福的，因为被人疼，当然觉得幸福。。等一下，需要将好多好重的文件搬到车里，找谁帮忙呢。。阿Q精神再现，不用紧，上上下下几次，就当作做运动咯。。

压力是动力，没错。。
它压爆了我的泪腺水管，洒出的泪水，就当着是眼睛的滋润剂吧，反正长时间对着电脑，眼睛都干干的。。哭过就好了啦。。发泄了，心情变好啦，继续往前冲。。冲啊
哇塞，真的老了，碎碎念的功力，比老妈来的还要强。。
管它，反正碎碎念本来就是我的强项。。

雨停了，是时候收拾东西回家了。。
灯管坏了，找谁修呢？自己来吧，不过，像老弟说的，矮婆，要怎么换灯管呢？哈哈，不知道，反正两天后才回来KL，看着办，到时才再想，不过，一定一定要记得带灯管上来，大头虾，你一定要记住啊。。
手指还不停的打，你真的很能念嘞。。

JJ's Updates..

It has been quite some time ago since JJ updates her blog..
24 hours seems like is not enough for JJ for her daily work..
To save time, JJ decided to write a brief updates regards herself..

1st of all, talks about working..
Currently, is the peak moment for JJ..
Everything has to be completed in short deadline..
2 words blinked in JJ's mind : EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT..
Repeating the same thing everyday..
Keying-in data, analyzing result, writing report and discussing with the research team..
The dates in JJ's diary are filled in with different tasks..
From Monday to Friday, the schedule is full..
HECTIC WORKHOLIC..

Regards to JJ's study life..
Yeap, JJ just did her master registration yesterday..
In order words, JJ is officially a Master student started from yesterday..
JJ will be going to wear her MASTER card for this coming 2 years..
Yeap, hopefully JJ able to finish her MASTER in 2 years time..
PRAY HARD..
Monday will be JJ's lecture day since JJ is just taking 1 course known as statistic in which the lecture is conducted on every Monday..

WORK HARD, STUDY SMART, PLAY HARD..
This is JJ's principle..
To balance the busy working life, JJ treats herself good by spending sometime to rest her mind..
Past few weeks, JJ spent her time with her housemates for meal, sing K and celebratubg birthday..
Yeap, no doubt, it was the 1st time JJ sang k with her lovely juniors housemate as well as having meal with them..
JJ also spent time to meet up with her old housemates as well..
Glad to know that they are fine and having good life..

Another activity which JJ indulged is watching movie..
Watched quite a number of interesting movies with friends and relative..
Yeap, JJ was watching movie with her uncle..
Is a surprise for JJ indeed since she never wondered that will get closer with her 5 years elder uncle..

Needless to say, looking for nice food always is JJ priority..
Tried nice Vegetarian food, Italian food, Vietnamness food..
Always keep this in mind..
NICE FOOD CAN ENLIGHTEN YOU..
JJ even learnt to drink beer and she found out that she able to accept both black and white beers..
Thank to her uncle for bringing her to SPAGETTI, a bar which provides nice brewed beer..
The beer served doesn't have the bitter beer taste which JJ's dislike much..

Hmm... the updates for JJ is almost done..
Guess JJ has already familiar with writing this kind of update report..
An usual job for JJ since she has to write her daily and weekly update to her lecturer.. grin*

Last but not least..
Although JJ is having busy life, in fact, JJ is sick now, enduring a long fight with the germs for more than 1 week yet not fully recover, JJ is still contented with her life..
HAPPY GOES LUCKY..
This is another principle which JJ always bear in mind...grin*

2010 ReSOluTions "

Hmm.. wat are JJ's New Year Resolutions...

1st of all, hope JJ's project runs well and smoothly..

- Since JJ has made the decision, no matter how, just face and accept the challenges awaiting.
JJ can do it !! Yeap !!

2d, hope JJ able to stick to what she has planned for herself as below..

- Sleep before 12am
- At least a cup of milk a day
- Try to go for gym at least 30 minutes a day

- In fact, this were JJ's 2009 missions and will continue with these for the coming year as well.
JJ is aiming for healthy lifestyle !! wakaka !!

3rd, enjoy every moment spend with friends and family..

- Life is short. Time indeed is precious. Instead of thinking back, better look forward, plan for
future. Get to know more people, learn more new things, explore to new environment. Of
course, won't leave out of searching for more new food.. grin*

4th, last but not least, BREAK EGG !!

- People around JJ, started to nag JJ to look for a boy friend. Mummy is worried about JJ of not
thinking to get married. Haha !! Still the same reply from JJ: "Relationship is so insecure. Just
let it be. Follow fate la." Steady Steady !!

The 1st day of 2010

8 AM – 9 AM
Kicked off the morning with a cup of hot NESCAFE BREAKFAST coffee, a MILO wafer and a butter cookie.

9 AM – 10.30 AM
Keyed in diet recalls. Hopefully, JJ able to finish key in all 200 recalls in 2 weeks time.

10.30 AM – 11.30 AM
Went for gym. Frankly, JJ not aimed for losing weight, in fact, JJ just wished that not to put on weight anymore. While doing gym, JJ received a call from Wen Qi who ask for a date. Of course JJ won’t reject as JJ wish to meet up with this old friend for long time.

12 PM – 1.30 PM
Drove to Sunway Pyramid to meet up with Wen Qi and A La. JJ able to reach destination without referring to the map. Bingo!!!

1.30 PM – 2.30 PM
Three of us had lunch at Uncle Seng’s Hand-made noodle house and Snowflake. The yellowish hand-made egg noodle was spongy and flavorful. Thumb-up. The Snowflake monthly special black pearl swallow jelly melted JJ’s heart.

2.30 PM – 4.30 PM
A La dropped Wen Qi and JJ at Sunway Pyramid and we started our shopping spree. Wen Qi was looking for tissue box wrapper and car decorator, however she was not able to get a satisfied one.

4.30 PM – 5 PM
We two girls had our tea break at My Honeymoon Dessert. Written on their menu, “We have the best durian and mango”. Hence, Wen Qi went for these two fruits. Though, the best-seller durian pancake was failed to satisfy Wen Qi’s crave of durian. In fact, JJ also thinks that its taste was disappointing, not as good as the one JJ had at Sweet Chat. No mango-pamelo, No papaya-milk, whatever Wen Qi ordered was not available and she ended up with sky juice. JJ ordered aloe vera iced swallow, it was cool and refreshing. JJ hearted it.

5 PM – 7 PM
After moisten our throats, we backed to our shopping spree. This time, Wen Qi was looking for a pair of high heels. After entering five shoe shops, JJ found one for her. (Again, it proved that you sure can get what you want if you shop with JJ. So, don’t be hesitated to ask JJ for outing. Grin*) The foreign guy (JJ guessed he was from Myanmar) who served Wen Qi kept on speaking with us (Wen Qi said to be more precise, he was speaking with JJ rather than her. Grin*). “The slippers you are wearing now not suit your size.” “You and her who is taller?” “Is she your sis?” “Are you student?” “Where do you study?” “You are now on holiday?” “Where are you from?” Within 30 minutes, he asked more than 10 questions. This Myanmar guy was really talkative and his English is not bad.

7 PM – 8 PM
Time to treat our tummy. We dined at Dragon- i. Wen Qi was the one who settle the menu of our dinner. Main course was Spicy Tofu Stone Rice, side order was signature Shanghai mini-dumpling, Dessert was Sago Vanila Snowflake. Actually, Wen Qi wanted JJ to have a try with the banana red bean wafer, yet it was not available. No choice, JJ had to wait for next time. But all the three orders won our heart. The Shanghai mini-dumpling maintained its usual good taste, the spicy tofu stone rice was appetizing, the sago vanilla snowflake absolutely was sweet-tooth favorite.

8 PM – 9.30 PM
It was JJ’s turn to look for cloths, not for JJ herself but for JJ’s dad and bro. JJ brought two shirts from Hush Puppy and Renoma respectively. Guess what, the shirts in fact were more expensive than the cloth price which JJ usually buy for herself. Guys’ cloth really expensive. Settled dad’s and bro’s Chinese New Year gifts, now just left mom’s. What should JJ present for mom? Have to figure it. Anyway, JJ get to know that Renoma sells big-sizw shirt, so can ask bro to choose his shirt from this shop next time.

9.30 PM – 11.30 PM
JJ drove back from Sunway. Again, JJ lost direction. JJ don’t know where she drove to. JJ just knew that she paid a toll which charged RM1.60, then reached somewhere around monorail station, then reached to an area which don’ have direction board, then don’t know how, JJ simply came to Masjid Jamek. JJ recognized it was the route which Metro bus used to back from Sungai Wang. JJ followed the Rapid KL bus reached Jalan Raja Laut, a route which JJ 90% know how to get back to Vistana. Anyway after wandering around KL for 2 hours, JJ finally reached home safely. Thank god.

an "OFFER" Day 211209

Supposed Pooh and JJ were planing to register for our master on last Monday yet we still had not get our offer letters. Since already out from home, we decided to hang out together.

First, we went for a movie, AVATAR, a movie which Pooh planned to watch desirely, written at her MSN PM -- Who wanna watch AVATAR with me!! It was definately a nice movie which worth to be watched at cinema. This was our 1st OFFER of the day as we watched it with student price. *grin*

While waiting for Pooh at library, JJ came across an advertisment stated SUSHI ZANMAI RM2 SUSHI PASSPORT for 4 persons. JJ's eyes were blinking. Hence, We went for our 2nd OFFER of the day. We had this promotion japanese meal as our lunch at their Lowyat outlet. The sushi somehow were bigger in size than usual and all the ingredients were fresh, juicy and of course tasty. We guessed probably we were a bit too early (stepped in the restaurant when they just opened), thus the chief generously served us with the big bulky sushi. Be the early bird sometimes may have some special offers. "grin* Beside the promotion sushi, we also ordered 2 main courses, tsukimi soba (the only main course which Pooh will order when she is dining at Sushi Zanmai) and chicken curry rice (JJ had a sudden crave for japanese rice and thick japanese curry gravy).

After the movie, Pooh was craving for Secret Recipe's walnut chocolate brownies. So, we walked to the Bukit Bintang outlet to have our tea-break. The 3rd OFFER of the day was the free tea for every piece of cake ordered from the restaurant. Needless to say, Pooh picked the walnut chocolate brownies (in fact, Pooh wished to have vanila ice-cream topping too but it was not available, too bad) while JJ opted for Durian Cheesecake as JJ heard lot of compliments from friends about this cake. Indeed, both brownies and cheesecake were awesome, absolutely melted our hearts.

Again, JJ used up all the available calories quota, had to work out hard for today's input.

"Girls, do you all wanna have dinner together at the vegetarian bak kut teh?" asked Xiao Wen and Yuk Mey when they were coming back from outside.

"I just tried it with JJ that day. I guessed I don't wanna join u guys." answered Xiao Chuan promptly.

"Same as me. How about we go for other restaurant? How about ITALIANNIESE? They are having promotion now. RM27.90 for 2 meal courses. Do you guys wanna try? I can be the driver. Just learnt the route to Sunway Pyramid from my friend that day. I guess I able to get to there." suggested by me who so-called food-seeker among them.

"Good idea. We never go out together before. This is a good chance for us. We can have an advance 2010 countdown celebration as well. Excited!!" the girls buy my suggestion.

"I change my plan. I will follow you guys for Italianniese." Again, Xiao Chuan had given her decision instantly.

"Great. Let's take bath and be prepared for outing. Go! Go! Go! girls." Entering the bathroom after grabing a shirt and pants from my woreboard.

Followed the map drew by friend, we reached our destination in 45 minutes time without trapping in serious traffic jam. Thank god.

Here we are : Italianniese @ Sunway Pyramid

We ordered 3 sets of the promotion meals which consisted of 3 appertisers and 3 main courses plus 2 desserts.

Italian Clams Soup was the 1st food served to us. It was a light soup prepared from fresh clams with slightly sour taste came from diced tomatoes, it certainly boosted up our appetite for the next food.

Followed by Toasted Bruschetta. A appertizer which comprised of crunchy homemade Tuscan bread topped with marinated tomatoes, pesto sauces and parmesan cheese. All of us hearted this much.

Pizza Caprese was the 3rd appertizer we had. Thin crust pizza topped with buffalo mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, red onions and basil. Dip with the sauce made of vineger and olive oil, the pizza even tasted nicer.

After finishing our appertizers, we were served with our 1st main course Shrimps linguine. A reddish meal consisted of fresh succulent sauteed shrimps served with marinara sauce. This was another meal which gained our liking.

Coming up next with Roasted Chicken with Balsamic Glaze. A quarter of oven-baked herbed roasted chicken glazed with Balsamic plus some fried (to be spesific, should be over-fried) rosemary wedges and garlic butter broccoli. Priscilla and I liked this aromatic chicken. It goes well with the sweet sourish black sauce served.

The 3rd main course meal was the Pan Fried Fish with Angel Hair. Angel hair pasta served with lightly battered pan-fried Dory fish in lemon capers sauce. Frankly, this meal was not as good as the other 2 main course meals as it was a bit too dry and tasteless for the pasta but well-done pan-fried fish managed to get some points for this meal.

Filling up half-full of our stomach, we left some spaces for our desserts. NY Strawberry Cheesecake. New York-style cheesecake served on a bed of strawberry sauce. No doubt, all of us fall in love with this velvety-textured light sweet cheesecake. Grace made the right choice.

Last but not least, we ended up our meal with another dessert, Tiramisu, the specialty of the restaurant. Lady finger cookies dipped iin liqueur and espresso coffee with layers of creamy mascarpone icing and topped with dark chocolate powder. After everyone had a bite of it, we felt that we were at the heaven. Awesome.

The best ingredient for an enjoyable evening is some company to share good food with. This is the 1st sentence written on their official website. Indeed, sharing is always a joy. The more companions, the merrier. This was the 1st time I had dinner together with my other 5 housemates (still lack of Yoon Hooi). Thanks Priscilla, Grace, Xiao Wen, Yuk Mey and Xiao Chuan for giving me a wonderful dinner.

"Girls, to be honest, i just know the route to Sunway but i dunno the way back." Still not familiar with KL routes. My solution is always the same -- follow the signboard but Malaysia signboard can't be trusted 100%.

"Nevermind. I have GPS." Xiao Chuan was starting up her HP and an usual phrase we heard -- WE ARE CALCULATING.

Inevitably, we lost direction again but I always bear a phrase in my mind -- In KL, as long as you have money, have petrol, you sure can reach your destination at the end. Hence, i got back to the right track after circulating for 15 minutes (i guessed i were somewhere near KL Sentral area) and we reached home SAFELY (almost hit by a car while we were at Bulatan Pahang). HUUuuu.. it was so close. Thank God.

今天堕落了一整天，用了一整天的时间看了一部偶像剧 - - 斗鱼（1）。
故事当然离不开爱情，可是里头所叙述的爱情很写实，除了爱情，还有温馨亲情和真挚的友情，是部不错的偶像剧。

每个人都必须为自己作出的决定负责任。
很多时候，一旦做出决定了，向前走了，就回不了头了，没得后悔了。
一个决定能改变你的一生。

“我不后悔，只要有你在，我永远都不后悔”。
我想在现实中，大概有不少的女生也曾说过类似的话吧。
可是有多少个女生是真的不后悔呢？

剧里饰演那群年轻人的长辈，辉叔，他的对白，让我想起身边的长辈也曾苦口婆心地劝过我身边的他，不过他始终没把话听进耳里，结果就这样永远的离开我们了。。
“我真的白养你了，你为什么就是这么不听话。”

剧情让我回想起好多好多的过去，掉了不少眼泪，今天发现，原来自己也蛮会哭。。

That day went to Putrajaya Statistic Department with Pooh to get the LQ list for our project.

It was really a tiring journey as we lost.

Circled and circled around the area for 1 hour.

Ended up we managed to reach the back side of the building. Thank god.

After taking the list, we went to Alamanda Shopping Complex to have our lunch.

Black Canyon Restaurant has be choosen.

Both of us order the set lunch.

JJ went for noodle while Pooh picked rice.

Fresh watermelon juice. The drink was included in the set lunch. Cool and refreshing.

Stir fried spaghetti with salted fish. Al-dentle noodle with aromatic wok-hei scent. It had the similar with mamee crab, a taste which JJ like very much. Overall, this chinese-western fusion food was heavenly good.

Rice with roasted chicken in garlic and pepper with mixed vegetables in gravy. A balance meal completed with juicy tender roasted chicken and greenish fresh kai-lan and carrot. The sauce perfectly moisten the plain white rice and awesome.

Tomyam soup. This sourish soup was served together with the rice. The soup was not much special but it tasted not bad. It was appertizing.

Overall, the service proveded was good and the food tasted great with reasonable price. Both of us were satisfied.

Everytime when looks at the menu, JJ found out that there are many types of coffee.
Hmm.. JJ decided to find out the difference between them.

Caffè espresso, or just espresso is a concentrated coffee beverage brewed by forcing hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee. As a result of the pressurized brewing process, all of the flavors and chemicals in a typical cup of coffee are very concentrated. For this reason, espresso is the base for other drinks, such as lattes, cappuccino, macchiato and mochas.

特别钟爱浓浓稠稠，口感绵绵甜甜的食物，

而芝麻糊是其中之一啦。
尝过不少档口的芝麻糊，

不过始终觉得最好吃的还是家乡夜市小档口所售卖的。
好难得碰上星期四不用上班，所以嚷着妈妈说要逛夜市，

因为太想念那芝麻糊的味道了。
最后当然如我所愿啦，呵呵。

芝麻糊营养价值高，而且可使美容护发的圣品，哈哈。
售卖芝麻糊的婆婆告诉我说她皮肤之所以白白滑滑是因为常喝芝麻糊，

起初半信半疑，过后自己上网阅读有关资料，发现婆婆真的没骗我。

中医认为，芝麻味甘、性平，有补血、润肠、通乳、养发等功效，

适于治疗身体虚弱、头发早白、贫血、大便燥结、头晕耳鸣等症状。

黑芝麻糊的效用更胜鲜奶，食得多皮肤会滑溜、少皱纹，

还会令肤色红润白净, 更可以治便秘。

利用节食来减肥的人，由于其营养的摄取量不够，皮肤会变得干燥、粗糙。

而芝麻中含有防止人体发胖的物质蛋黄素、胆碱、肌糖，因此芝麻吃多了也不会发胖。

在节食减肥的同时，若配合芝麻的食用，粗糙的皮肤可获得改善。

芝麻的热量不高，可是芝麻糊的热量并不低哦，

因为芝麻糊在烹煮的过程中加入油，糖，糯米粉等材料，这些都是属于高热量的食材。

还是老话一句，每样食物都有它的营养价值.

Part-time week (2): Mydin Mall, MITC Melacca

A day after back from Chembong, JJ packed up to Melacca for the 2nd part-time job.

This time, JJ targeted group was kiddies.

Giving advise to parents regarding to children eating practise is much difficult than advising adults to practise healthy eating habit. From these 3 days event, JJ found out that JJ has to read more on children eating habit. In fact, it is something related to JJ current research project. *grin*

Hmm.. some experiences JJ gained from these 3 days event..

Wonder why most of the Malay parents asked their children to call us as "AUNTY" rather than "KAKAK". Are we look that old?

Obedient child is an angel but hyper-active child is a demon.

Giving birth a child is not as hard as rearing and educating the child. It needs lots of love, care, patience and MONEY. Think properly before you intend to start this "investment". *grin*

Part-time week (1): Nestle Factory, Chembong

Last week can be considered as JJ's part-time week.

Worked as nutritionist advisor for 2 part-time jobs.

The 1st job was at Chembong, a small town at Negeri Sembilan.

It was the first time JJ visited to NESTLE factory.

Hmm.. The experiences JJ gained from this job:

JJ's BM showed improvement. Yeap. Practise make perfect. *Grin*

The most common phrase JJ heard from the workers : "Makan nasi akan gemuk. Saya tak makan nasi. Saya hanya makan roti."

After JJ had lunch at the factory canteen for 3 days, JJ finally found out the reason why JJ don't like Malay food much. 3 words to describe the food served at the canteen : Yellow, Red, Oil.

Thanks to Encik Din and Madam Vitjaya for their help in arranging the event. Thanks to all the workers for joining the event and giving JJ a chance to practise the knowledge that JJ has learnt. Specially thanks to Encik Din for helping us to buy the nestle products with 20% discount price and providing us bountiful of Milo wafers, Kitkats, Smarties, Milo nuggets, Nestle ice-creams as snacks.

Do you ever heard of this term?

Glycemic index (GI) is a measure of the effects of carbohydrates on blood sugar levels.
Not all carbohydrate foods are created equal, in fact they behave quite differently in our body.

Choosing low GI carbs, that one that produce only small fluctuations in our blood glucose and insulin levels, is the secret to long-term health reducing your risk of heart disease and diabetes and is the key to sustainable weight loss.

So, what are the benefits of the Glycemic index?

Low GI diets help people lose and manage weight.

Low GI diets increase the body's sensitivity to insulin.

Low GI carbs improve diabetes management.

Low GI carbs reduce the risk of heart disease.

Low GI carbs improve the blood cholesterol levels.
Low GI carbs reduce hunger and keep you fuller for longer.

Low GI carbs prolong physical endurance.

High GI carbs help re-fuel carbohydrate store after exercise.

For your information, many factors can affect a food's glycemic index:

1. Processing

- Grains that have been milled or refined have higher GI than whole grain.

2. Type of starch

- Starch comes in many different configurations. Some are easier to break into sugar molecule that others. For instance, the starch in potatoes is digested and absorbed into the bloodstream relatively quickly.

3. Fiber content

- The fiber the food has, the less digestible carbohydrate, and so the less sugar it can deliver.

4. Ripeness

- Ripe fruits and vegetables tend to have more sugar than unripe ones, and so tend to have higher GI value.

5. Fat content and acid content

- The more fat or acid a food or meal contains, the slower the carbohydrates are converted into sugar and absorbed into bloodstream.

So, how to switch to a low GI Diet? The basic technique for eating low GI way is simply swapping high GI carbs for low GI carbs.

Use breakfast cereal based on oats, barley and bran.

Use bread with wholegrains*, sour dough.

Reduce the amount of potatoes you eat.

Enjoy all other types of fruit and vegetables.
Use Basmati or Doongara rice.

Enjoy pasta and noodle*.

Eat plenty of salad vegetables with a vinaigrette dressing.

* wholemeal bread is not same as wholegrain bread.

SUNny day with a smiley face

Why was JJ so happy ??

Simply because JJ had a great weekend.

Had a delicious Japanese cuisine as lunch with friend.

JJ ordered for unagi rice box while friend went for salmon treasure box.

It was a great indulgence for both of us.

After lunch, we went to sing K (la..la..la..) with a friend for 3 hours continuously.

It has been quite a long time ago since JJ sang K at the K-room.

Hence, no doubt JJ totally satisfied and enjoyed singing for 3 hours non-stop since nobody fought mic with JJ as just 2 of us with 3 mic-s provided. (grin*)

After finished singing K, JJ met up with another two friends for dinner.

Had a great dinner at FULLHOUSE @ NZX ARA DAMANSARA.

JJ liked the ambience and atmosphere pretty much.

JJ liked the food as well, especially the mushroom soup.

The soup was creamy, totally matched to JJ's liking (yummy*).

In fact, it was the main reason why JJ was being there.

Friend told JJ that the soup was nice and should have a try.

Before leaving, we had our photo-capturing session.

Needless to say, it was absolutely a nice place for snaping.

In JJ's heart, JJ was thinking of another friend.

JJ guessed she would fall in love with this place if she was there with JJ.

Hope have a chance to revisit to this restaurant together with her and other friends as well.

p/s: JJ suddenly realized that JJ spent the whole day with 3 different guy friends. (grin*) This coming weekend JJ should hang out with JJ's girl friends. Specially thanks to sk, ck and ts.

Joined ADAM and XIAO WEN for dinner.

At 1st, we planned to have famous AMPANG BEGGAR CHICKEN and MELON SOUP.

Unfortunately, we were informed that for weekdays, these dishes have to be pre-ordered.

Too bad, we missed out the chance of trying them.

At the end, we went for CHEESE NAAN, one of XIAO WEN favorite food.

A mamak restaurant which famous with its cheese naan and dhal kambing.

In order to fill up 3 crowl-ing stomach-es, we actually ordered quite a lot.

Here were our orders:

1. CHEESE NAAN

Thin crusty soft naan with over-whelming mozerrela cheese.

It is totally awesome especially for cheese-lover like JJ.

Heavenly good-taste.

Must try this out if you love cheese.

JJ bets you sure will fall in love with it.

2. GARLIC NAAN

The bread texture is same as Cheese Naan, just that the flavour is different.

The butter spread goes well with the chopped garlic filling.

3. DHAL BIASA

If you think that this dhal tastes same as those you try at the mamak stall, then you are wrong. It is not that BIASA.

In fact, the gravy is tangy and gluey, not watery like those sold at normal mamak stall.

JJ likes the dhal pretty much.

4. DHAL MUTTON

Chopped fine seasoned mutton cooked with india spices.

Dip the Cheese Naan with Dhal Biasa then add on some Dhal Mutton.

Tell you, it is absolutely a perfect combination.

Irresistable.

5. DHAL KAMBING

Moist, tender soft stewed mutton rib.

The meat remains juicy though have cooked for a long period.

The spices enhance the essence of the meat.

It is aromatic.

6. NASI BIRYANI

Another must-try dish.

The rice is well-cooked and frangrant.

It tasted great either just served as plain or with the dhal.

Any of the dhal matches perfectly with it.

You will raise your thumb up after you have tried this.

Thousand thank you to ADAM for his kind treat.

JJ actually ate quater of nasi biryani and half pieces of the Cheese naan.

The dhal is appertizing.

After Mamak-food, JJ is looking forward the BEGGAR CHICKEN and MELON SOUP.

Most of JJ's friends know that she likes bread.

JJ can eat bread for every meal without feeling bored.

But most of them don't know what kinds of bread does JJ like.

"la baguette" is one of JJ's favorite bread.

JJ likes its cripsyness and chewyness.

In French, Baguette means stick or wand.

It is baked in long crusty and browned loaves with a white interior and lots of irregularly shaped holes.

It is made from simple ingredients such as wheat flour, water and common salts.

JJ likes plain bread rather than assorted-flavor bread.

This is why JJ seldom buy sugary bread, especially donut, meaty bread and mayonnaise-filling bread from bakery.

P.S: in French, bread is called "Pain"

071109 Saturday

JJ woke up at 7a.m. and started to edit the enumerator briefing powerpoint.
Hmm .. tik tuck.tik tuck. without realizing, it was 12 p.m.
It was the time for JJ to stop her work (even though not complete yet) and prepare to hang out.
de 1st station. Time Square.
An incidence happened in the monorail on the way JJ heading to Time Square.
A lady scolded loud and fiercely to an INDONESIA guy who were trying to take advantage of her (according to the lady).
However, personally, JJ thinks that this lady had prejudice on the INDONESIAN.
Anyway, it didn't spoilt JJ's mood of wanting to hang around.
As usual, JJ stepped into the bakery shop which located near to the exit of the monorail station.
Had a glance on those delicate breads and cakes.
Then, JJ went to SASA and bought some eye-pads and eye-masks.
No doubt JJ needed them much.
JJ eyes were like PANDA since didn't sleep for 3 days.
Then, JJ met up with friend to have lunch together.
We had chosen Sweet Chat restaurant as we wanted (actually was JJ who wanted) to watch the i-FEEL girl search competition on the opposite stage.
Delicious foods plus pretty girls, JJ guessed it would be more appealing, (for guys, it is for sure. grin)
JJ ordered a set meal for herself.
JJ went for Cheese N Mac, gingko fungus sweet dessert and peach punch.
JJ missed cheese much. Yum Yum..

JJ wanted to go to THE CURVE and IKEA long time ago.

and finally JJ wishes came true.

de 2nd station. CINEMAX.

We planned to watch a movie.

Thus, we went to CINEMAX (not sure the name of the complex) to buy our ticket.

There were many options and was hard to make decision since JJ was alright with all the available options.

We ended up picked CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS.

Movie would be started on 5.45pm and we had an 1 hour free time.

Therefore, we decided to walk to THE CURVE and wander around that area.

de 3rd station. THE CURVE.

A special restaurant caught our attention.

"Let's go in to have a look."

Whoa.. The restaurant was like a market and it was divided into several stations, eg: salad bar, dessert, pasta, coffee and tea, fresh fruit juice, etc.

At each station, there were several counters with all the cooking ingredients and materials displayed in front of the counters.

In each counter, there were 2 or 3 chefs standing there to prepare the food you order.

After visited all the stations, we decided to order coffee and dessert since both of us still felt full with the lunch.

We filled up our tummy with sweet fruity crepe in hazelnut-chocolate sauce.

For the coffee option, JJ ordered cold latte with hazelnut (actually it is noting related to JJ's name, just coincident. grin) while friend ordered cold latte with macadamia.

The portion of the crepe was just nice for 2 persons. (Sharing is always a joy. grin)

Sweet-tooth JJ like the crepe.

The movie was about 1 hour 15 minutes.

JJ was impressed with the creativity of the author.

Obtained some messages after watching the movie.

JJ was enjoyed with the movie. (is because it is related to food?? not really because of this. grin)
The main reason is because JJ felt relax when watching the movie totally forgot about all the work.

Raining dizzily when we came out from the cinema.
"I still think of want to have another cup of coffee. How about you?"

Hmm.. The cold wheather had made JJ felt wanted to have a cup of coffee too.

Hence, again we had our 2nd round of coffee.

It was absolutely heavenly good when served the coffee together with a piece of cake at the same time listen to the oddies.

Totally a great indulgence.

The singer had an angel voice.

Ice-blended mocha, ice-blended cuppoccino, opera, tiramisu.

Frankly, the coffee were not as good as those from STARBUCK or COFFEE BEANS.

The cake, especially the tiramisu, was disappointing.

It tasted weird and its texture was a bit too hard.

Anyway, JJ still finished it up as we shouldn't waste food. (one of the moral of the story got from the movie, grin)

JJ was too stuffed, Hmm.. must do some exercise.

So, we went to IKEA to have our "brisk walking".

Same as others, JJ also love all the IKEA displays.

Hmm.. JJ future dream house.

At first, JJ planned to buy a shelf but ended up JJ just bought a soft black pillow.

Needed it as JJ chair cushion since JJ spent most of the time sitting and facing laptop.

It almost reached the end of the day.

JJ had a great day.

Really really thank to TS for asking me out and bringing JJ to the all of these places. (because JJ wanted to learn the route so that next time JJ can go alone)

Basically JJ life for past two weeks was as follow:

Morning had meeting untill the evening..

Back to home around 6-7 pm..

Had a simple dinner, mostly bread or veg soup..

then started to face in front of the laptop and type out questionnaires..

On the other day had meeting or discussion again..

Back home at the evening..

Quickly took bath and had dinner..

Started staring the laptop screen till the mid-morning..

Or else..

Drove here and there..

Picked up the photostate stuffs..

Pack the stuffs into envelop..

Typed out instructions..

Prepared powerpoint..

Designed templates..

Gave briefing..

..No days and nights..

But today..

JJ have made promise to herself..

Have a small break..

Woke up as early as 5am in the morning.

Began my wonderful wednesday with 2 pieces of french breads and a cup of nescafe as my breakfast.

Watched a funny video clip titled "卫生棉洗餐具"uploaded in fb while bitting my favorite french bread.

Had a great laugh while listening to the silly dialogues spoke by the character, Ah Gui.

Once finishing my breakfast, was the time for me to start my work.

Faced to tonne of papers on my table.

My desktop was full of folders until they hid up my background photo.

My friend's face was totally covered up by all these dis-organized folders (so sorry to you, lydia.)

It was the time for me to clean up all the folders and bind up all the papers into files.

Started my cleaning process at 6am and the whole process took about 7 hours to 80% complete.

Anyway, i still hv a big bag of papers which have to be distributed to all corresponding lecturers and i am supposed the job have to be continued tomorrow since i had a meeting on 3pm.

Had to prepare myself for attending a meeting at PJ.

Dressed up myself formerly then walked to the nearby stationary shop to photostate the questionnaires which will be used on the friday meeting.

Lazy to walk to a further shop because i didn't want myself to sweat alot under the hot sun.

Afterthat, walked to faculty to get my supervisor signature for some letters and faxed them to corresponding receiver.

Once everything was settled, back to vistana again together with WeiWen.

We were heading towards PJ 32Square, the Crest.

I went to this area before yet i didn't memorized the route.
Hence, didn't care so much, i just drove to the destination according to WeiWen's instructions (some descriptions he copied from internet to reach the place), signboards and my sense.

WeiWen had no idea on the direction, "Wrong liao. find ways to U-Turn. Where are we now? We are suppose go to Lebuhraya Mahameru. Where is SS19/1? Where is Sit Chew Jit Poh office?"

He was worried about the petrol volume and double-confirm with me, "You sure you have enough petrol to reach the place, right?"

He asked me to slow down my speed, "Hey, slow down a bit. You drive too fast liao until i am not able to read the signboard."

He was frightened by my reckless driving skill, "Walao, you just U-turn like this." (this made me remember my recent melaka trip with C.I.R.C.L.E)

I just remember the phrase i kept on mentioning during the journey, "WeiWen, please tell me which lane i suppose to stay with, left or right? WeiWen, here means left or right? this is a folk road lei. WeiWen, you are saying left but you are pointing right-hand side lei, so should be left or right?"

Obviously, we were totally kelam-kabut.

Anyway, we managed to reach our destination on time, mission 50% completed while we reached, "WeiWen, i totally have no idea about the route to go back to vistana from here."

WeiWen scratched his head and said, "alamak, i just copied the route from Bulatan Pahang to Pj, i didn't search the route to back to KL again."

Had a great meeting with the project sponsors.

Surprised when Prof Paul showed my course-night photo (i think the photo was taken 2 years ago, sign time passed so fast) in his slide while he was introducing me. "Nice photo without the spect." (i am certained that i totally look different with spect and without spect, even the staff at the jabatan also couldn't recognize me and told me that it had been sometime she didn't meet me, in fact i just spoke to her face-to-face a day ago, sign")

So do WeiWen's and Shwu Chen's photo, the moral of the story is don't simply upload photo to website, especially FB.

In the bottom of my heart, i know well that i will be facing a lot of challenges and obstacles in these two years, hopefully i can overcome all of these. "all the best to myself."

After finished the meeting, we had dinner at Bangkok House.

A very warmth treat from the sponsor, ordered a variety of Thai food for us, (personally, i think the amount of the food was too much, 2 plates of each dish was just nice, 3 plates was too much, wasting, took away some for Shwu Chen who was sick and my housemates, since nobody wanted the packed food.)

Besides, all of us were given a big hamper of Dutch Lady products.

WeiWen's great words : "We need to pay off this in double. The bigger the reward we gain, the greater hard work we have to contribute, our project is not an easy job. There is no free lunch in this world"

Agreed with WeiWen.

On the way back to Setapak.

Once again, WeiWen was "impressed" with my driving technique.

A frequent phrase he spoke in the whole day, "Well, it is fine. I am going to get used it."

Thanks WeiWen, our mission was 100% completed.

There are other mission awaiting for us.

凌晨两点多。。
听见爸爸呼叫我们。。
妈妈发病了。。

很快的，我从床里爬了起来，跑到爸妈的房里。。
我掀开妈妈的被，帮忙爸爸调整好妈妈的身体。。
突然发现，爸爸已不能像以前那样，能够一个人撑起妈妈了。。

很熟练的，我拿了厕纸把妈妈的唾液抹干净，然后提妈妈按摩。。
当下，爸爸愕住了。。
或许爸爸从来没想过，我依然能够这么淡定的处理。。
因为妈妈很久没发病了。。
爸爸，你也许不知道，我有预感妈妈会发病，所以那整夜不敢真正的入眠。。

很小的时候就知道，妈妈的病是不会好起来了。。
不过搬家后情况好了很多，不过最近不懂为什么又复发了。。
昨晚上，回想起以前很多不开心的回忆。。
不过告诉自己，都过去了。。

驾了一整天的车，刚刚从学校开完会回家，洗了个澡，可是还是觉得很累。。
眼睛很肿，没睡好。。
身体是很累，可是睡不着，因为好多好多工作在排队等着我了。。
加上这闷闷感觉，憋在心里一整天了，很不舒服。。
现在一次过写完出来，感觉好多了。。

好了，笑一笑，医肚子，开工咯！！

妈妈，别老是转牛角尖，好吗？

..Before feeding your little growling stomach..

Heat the pan with cooking oil then put in garlic and onion.
Fry until aromatic and add in the vegetables.
Stir fry for 1 minute then add it the rice.
Fry the rice together with the vegetables for 1 minute.
Make a hole it the middle of the pan then crack open an egg into the hole.
Cover the egg with the rice and combine.
Add in some light soy sauce before transfering the rice to plate.

Ingredients:

1 Sweet Potatoes
1/2 cup of Mung Beans
1 tbsp Sugar
1.5L Water

Methods:

Cut de sweet potatoes into small cubes.
Add in de sweet potatoes & mung beans into boiling water.
Boil the soup for 45 minutes.
Add in de sugar and stir it well.

Notes:
You can add in some coconut milk if you like de taste of santan.

Ingredients:

.Carrots. .Tomatoes. .Onions.

.Potatoes. .Celeries. .Garlic.

.Japanese Curry Pack.

.Bird-nest Beehoon .

Methods:

Chop all the vegetables.
Heat the frying-pan & add in some oil.
Add in some garlic & stir-fry until fragrant.
Add in all the chopped vegetables & stir-fry them well.
Add in some water & stew until the potatoes become soft.
Add in the Japanese curry pack & stir it well with the vegetables.
Boil some water & put in the birdnest beehoon.
Once the beehoon is cooked, drain out the water.
Pour the curry on the cooked beehoon and serve it.

Notes:

Add in some chicken or beef according to your own preference.
Don't add it too much water when you cook the potatoes.
The birdnest beehoon texture is a bit different from the normal beehoon. It has a special mouthfeel. For those who never taste it before, no harm to have a try.

此刻，真的觉得很压力。。
手头上的工作，好像怎么做都做不完。。
工作量繁多，其实我真的觉得还好。。
我不介意须要比别人做的多，不介意牺牲睡眠。。
Paper work 。。慢慢做，一定做的完。。

最让我喘不过气来的是人事关系。。
我真的不想当“阿头”。。
我的肩膀没这么“硬正”。。
我的背也没后盾为我挡箭。。
有时候，真的不懂要如何分配才能顺得A君来，也没得罪B君。。

Absolutely agreed with Lap that baking is a healthy activity, thus 5 days after the 2nd cakey day, we decided to have the third round. Our lenglui C.I.R.C.L.E member, Ms Tan Kee San was joining us to make sheperd’s pie, lotus pau and jelly moon-cake.

Sometimes, we can just do things follow our feeling.

Simply just added in all the ingredients according to my own measurement. Haha”

Nice to see, nice to touch and nice to eat.

Used up half packet of 3kg lotus paste to make all of these.

This time was Lap’s turn who requested to re-bake the cheesecake as he wished to learn and make it for his family. Again, we gathered at Lydia’s house. Besides baking cheesecake, Lydia also shared another great recipe with us, the moist chocolate cake, meanwhile I, the one who always come out with some awesome ideas, suggested to make moon-cakes. After discussing with Lydia and Lin hui, we decided to make both crystal skin moon-cake and jelly moon-cake.

He intended to become the new X-generation House-man.

See he was concentrating in separating the egg yolks.

Personally, i think he passed the test.

These were the usual procedures for baking..

A great effort to take out the crystal skin moon-cake from the mould..

Don’t misunderstand.

She wasn’t hitting cockroach.

After trying many times, finally we got one which was nicer in shape.

Below were our products of the today..

Blissful chocolate topping.

Err..for the base, its texture supposed to be spongy but ended up like Malay kuih.

Probably because we boiled the chocolate for too long.

Less spongy compared to the one we made yesterday.
Probably because of the difference shown in the texture of beaten egg white foam.

Don’t be cheated with their appearance.
The jelly moon-cakes in fact were a bit flabby.
Added in too much water.

The cake was too delightful to be resisted by him.

These were our take-away.

CrysTaL Skin MOonCake

Ingredients:

Crystal Skin:

water 350ml

pandan leaf essence 1 teaspoon

icing sugar 180g

koh flour 240g

shortening 60g

Filling:

lotus paste 1000g

melon seed/ olive nut 60g

Methods:

Mix the koh flour and icing sugar well and add in water.
Knead the mixture into a dough and add in the shortening.
Slightly bake the seeds for 5 minutes and leave aside.
Wrap 75g crystal skin dough with 75g paste then press them into the mould.

Keep the mooncake in the fridge for 1-2 hours before it is served.

Ingredients:

agar-agar powder 5g

jelly powder 10 g

water 700g

sugar 200g

coconut milk 400g

condensed milk 100g

red bean paste 500g

pandan essence 2 teaspoons

colouring 1 teaspoons

Methods:

Boil the water.
Mix well the agar-agar and jelly powder together with the sugar.
Add the mixture into the hot water.
Add in coconut milk, condensed milk and pandan essence.
Stir it well and make sure all the mixture is dissolved.
Add in the colouring.
Pour the mixture into the moulds and let them to cool down.
Once the mixture is halfly solidified, add on the red bean paste and fill it up with the mixture.
Leave the mixture to be solidified and keep it into the fridge before it is served.

Notes:

Besides red bean paste, you can also choose other pastes, such as lotus, yam, durian, pumpkin etc. according to your own preference.
Highly recommend you to choose the AYAM BRAND pasteurised liquid form coconut milk if you are using the instant coconut milk.

SHePerD's Pie ''

Ingredients:

Topping (A):

1 kg potatoes (Russert)

100g butter

1 teasp salt

4 oz milk

1/2 teasp pepper

parmesan cheese shredded

Filling (B)

500g minced beef/chicken

2 large onions chopped

3/4 teasp salt

1 chicken stock cube added into 1 cup hot water

1 1/2 tablesp dark soya sauce

2 tablesp cornflour added with 2 teasp water

1 1/2 teasp Lea n Perrins sauce added acc to taste

5 tablesp oil

1 large carrot

1 tin mushroom sliced

Method:

Wash potatoes, boil, mash, add (A).
Stir fry filling until cooked.
Place filling at bottom of oven proof glass dish, add potato mixture on top, sprinkle cheese.
Bake in oven 200 degree celcius for 30 - 40 minutes.

200gm whipped cream

40gm butter

240gm chopped chocolate

Method:

Heat whip cream till it boils.
Add chopped chocolate and mix well.
Add butter and mix well.

2oz cocoa powder (Vanhouten brand)

Method:

Mix together and double boil until sugar dissolves.
Leave to cool.

Part B.

6 eggs

7oz sugar

8oz self-raising flour

8oz butter

Method:

Melt the butter and leave it to cool.
Seperate the egg yolk and egg white.
Beat egg white with half sugar until light.
Beat egg yolk, half sugar, butter, and 'A' until well mixed.
Add flour and mix.
Fold in the egg white.
Bake for about 35 minutes at 170°C.
Apply chocolate to middle of cake and as topping.

250g Philadephia Cream Cheese

50g Butter100ml Fresh Milk

Part B:

60g Superfine Flour (top or cake flor)

20g Cornflour6 Egg Yolks

1 tbsp Lemon Juice

¼ tsp Salt

Part C:

6 Egg Whites

¼ tsp Cream of Tartar

140g Fine Granulated Sugar

Methods:

Melt (A) in double boiler and cool the mixture until room temperature.
Fold in (B) and mix well.
Whisk egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy and then add in sugar and whisk until soft peaks form.
Fold in half of the (C) into the mixture and mix well.
Then add in the other half and mix them evenly.
Pour the mixture in 8 inches round cake pan (lightly grease and line the bottom and side of the pan with greaseproof paper).
Finally, bake in water bath for 1 hour 10 minutes or until set or golden brown at 160 °C.

Finally we entered a chicken rice ball shop to satisfy our craving for Nyonya Cendol and forced to order some chicken rice balls and side dishes as well..

After filling-up our tummy, we walked along the Jonker street again..
Looking for pineapple cookies..
One of my favorite CNY cookies but again it was fully booking.. Sobsob..
We stopped at a stall selling malt-sugar wrapped fruits stick..
Tried the mixed fruit stick..
Taste not bad, just that all of us coughed badly after swallowing the tiny china pear..

In order to get to the shop, we drove round and round at the Melacca town for some time..

礼拜五

与琳慧和颂悯在Sunway Pyramid 的 Zen 吃了一顿丰富的日本餐。。

午餐后，我们便四处逛逛替崇立挑选他指定的大礼。。

Hmm。。希望收礼人会喜欢那份礼物啦。。
晚餐时间，崇立带我们到SSJ14尝尝当地出名的炒laksa 和台湾冰点。。

医饱肚子后，接下来的活动当然就是我们当天的重头戏 - - 看话剧。。

那话剧简直是一级棒，演员们的演技超好噢。。

看完话剧后，我们便浩浩荡荡地到Serdang和子健见面吃宵夜。。

趁着食物还没到。。大家对着镜头笑。。

大伙们特地千里迢迢到Puchong IOI Mall 为子健打气。。

当天半决赛最年轻的参赛者，小女孩只有六岁。。

是学校老师教她的哦。。想不到吧。。

子健的one-man show。。他选唱的歌曲是范逸臣的放生。。

我和琳慧也乘热闹。。在完全没准备之下，我们选唱了SHE的爱我的资格。。

没想到我们竟然挤入决赛。。

国庆日礼拜一

再次观临Sense Cafe。。

第一次参加歌唱比赛就能挤进决赛，呵呵。。完全在我预料之外。。

Jin's Weekly Diary of ISAK workshop

ISAK workshop was held form 17 till 19 August 2009 at ISN. Within these 3 days, I listened to some lectures and learnt some basic techniques of skin-fold measurement. Dr Masaharu Kagawa was our invited Japanese speaker. He is a nice and easy-going person. He loves to chat. He shared his story with me during our journey from hotel to ISN and from ISN back to hotel.

On the last day, I sat for an exam which cost RM1500. I was so worried that I might fail the exam. In fact, I was not performing well during the exam as well. Unexpectedly, I passed the exam. Thank god. Thank to Mr Masa’s explanations. Thank to my lovely housemates and juniors for becoming my subject to let me do my practice.

What is the thickness of my fat ?? I was being pinched for the 3 days. Until now, the lumps on my calf and thigh were still there.

WenQi. She is being paid RM100 as a subject to let 16 persons pinched her skin from 11am until 5pm.

ISN Athletes Cafeteria food. Healthy cooking style, creative menu, delicious taste. I missed the nutty cake, the bread pudding, the baked potato, the fish fillet. Yummy!!

On the last day, we had dinner at Seri Melayu. We enjoyed our local famous Malay cuisine. Some of the nice food I tried were lodeh, durian pengat, ayam masak merah, redang, nasi minyak, sup tulang, etc. All were heavenly good.

My Bulky left hand. The condition of my left palm was not as worse as the next morning when i woke up and realized that my other fingers could not move at all.

Supposed I was happy that I managed to pass my exam. However, I was upset because my hand was bended accidentally during the workshop. Luckily, it was my left hand but anyway I do feel inconvenient whenever needed to handle stuffs with both hands. I faced difficulty in tearing a paper, typing an-email, wearing shirt buttons, taking my hand-phone out from my pocket, opening my water bottle, pushing the car gear, turning the car stearing, etc. I paid for the consequences if being careless.

Hou Mei Fish Curry Head Restaurant @ Setapak

It was totally in a sudden Lee Peng made her mind to take Dr Masahawa Kagawa, our ISAK workshop speaker to have dinner together on Monday’s night. After a long consideration and discussion, we decided to take Dr Masa to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant at Setapak.

Fish Head Curry. This was the signature dish of the restaurant. This dish consisted of the usual ingredients like cabbages, brinjals, lady fingers, pepper chilies, fish head, spices and the coconut milk. Its scenting aroma successfully trickled all of our salivary. Its spiciness was within our acceptance limit, especially for Dr Masa who was not familiar with spicy hot food. “I like it. It is great!!” commented by Dr Masa.

Stir-fried Sweet-potato Leaves with Belacan. Since Dr Masa would like to try some local special food, we decided to order this dish due to several reasons. First, we guessed sweet-potato leaves were seldom eaten by Japanese. Second, belacan paste was our local specialty and for sure it would be used in Japanese cooking. Once again, we would like to challenge Dr Masa’s acceptance towards spicy food. However, it seemed like this dish was a bit salty for him probably because he accidentally bitten a pinch of salt. Overall, the leaves were soft and tasted great with the belacan paste.

Pandan Leaves Chicken. Wrapped with the pandan leaf was the deep fried seasoned chicken rib. The meat was tender, juicy and full of aromatic spices scent. I bet you totally irresistible to have a second bite of it after finishing your first bite. Dr Masa was curious to know about how is the pandan plant look like. Again, he was satisfied with this dish by showing his thumb up.

Pandan Leave Wrapped Chickens. Wrapped with the pandan leaf was the deep fried seasoned chicken rib. The meat was tender, juicy and full of aromatic spices scent. I bet you totally irresistible to have a second bite of it after finishing your first bite. Dr Masa was curious to know about how is the pandan plant look like. Again, he was satisfied with this dish by showing his thumb up.

Chicken Herbal Soup. This soup was cooked with plentiful ingredients and its taste was fantastic. It was clear, not oily and naturally sweet. We would like to have a second bowl of it but the portion of the soup was just enough for everyone to have a try. By the way, Dr Masa was shocked by the big hard skin attached chicken leg.

Great Dinner with Dr Masaharu Kagawa. We leave the restaurant contentedly.

Last Sunday, after I finished my ISAK recorder job, I joined Ken and Johnson for dinner. Since Ken was not feeling well, Johnson was urged to drive Ken’s car and I was told to have “spicy soup” (translated directly from Chinese words) as our dinner. I totally had no idea where we were heading to until we reached the destination.

Tang~Tang~Tang~Tang. This was the restaurant RESTORAN KEE V.

Crowded with People. I guessed they able to convince you that the food shouldn’t taste too bad.

Fried Mini Spring Rolls. Crispy spring roll skin wrapped fully with fish paste, sengkuang, carrot and celery. I liked it because it was made up with fresh fish paste instead of pork meat.

Lettuces. Lightly stir-fried lettuce with oyster sauce and fried flavorful chopped garlic. I supposed it was the common veg-dish which usually ordered by the guys.
Clay-pot Hot-explosive Pork Bellies. Basically this dish was consisted of pork bellies cooked with thick and thin soy sauces, dried chilies, dried shrimps, peppers, onions and topped with some shallot leaves. All these ingredients contributed to its hotness and slightly spiciness tastes. Johnson and I rather preferred this than the clay-pot salty fish pork bellies because it was more flavorful than that. In brief, it tasted great.
Clay-pot Salty Fish Pork Bellies. This dish tasted quite similar to the clay-pot hot-explosive pork bellies but it was not spicy. The salty fish replaced the dried shrimps to give flavor to this dish. This dish was more suited to Ken’s liking as he couldn’t stand with the spicy food.
Spicy Soup. This was the signature dish of the restaurant. As being told by its name, the soup was hot and spicy because the main ingredients of the soup were gingers and peppers together with pork ribs, chicken bones, chicken ribs, intestines and pork bellies. We ordered needle mushrooms as extra add-on and they went well with the soup. The soup gave a sense of warmth to my tummy and left the hotness taste in my buds. It was fantastic.

Johnson. By just looking at his appearance, I really couldn’t know that he is 4 years elder than me. Maybe I should ask him about his secret of keeping himself to stay young.
Kennex. The poor guy who had been suffering for nausea and bloating for 2 weeks. Hopefully he will fully recover soon.

MASO 2009 Scientific Conference was held at Seri Pasific Hotel on 12 and 13 August 2009.

I was glad to be one of the organizing committees involved in the scientific booklet, the poster board and the registeration counter.

No doubt, i also had a chance to indulge in various type of food and satisfy tummy with yummy dessert. Until now, the sweet taste and smooth texture of Creme Brulee was still trickling my taste-buds whenever i was thinking about it. The lightly tempting vege dishes were vivid in my memory.

It was indeed my pleasure to work together with you guys.

Hmmm. Think of the good side, at least, the feeling of disappointment and boredom were able to be consoled by nice freshly Fruit Rojak.

Stressed with the working task during this weekend..

Hoping to go out for a walk..

My dream came true when i received a call from my bro..

Both of us just directly heading to the counters which sold the thing which we were looking for..

Bro wanted to buy a PDA phone and CD holder while i was looking for laptop cooler..

However, when we passed by a booth which was selling accessories..

Bro with his good-sight saw a big discount for laptop accessories..

5 items: laptop protector, screen protector, keyboard protector, screen cleaner and laptop mini-bag was just sold with RM27..

No doubt, we grabbed one set of these..

Since the bag was useless to us, we decided to change it with another piece of laptop protector..

..I helped it to change a new cloth.. ^^

After visiting the fair, was time for us to settle our dinner..

At first, bro said he wanted to eat KFC..

Yup, he is one of the KFC fans..

OLDTOWN

1. OLDTOWN Kari Mee

Spicy food won't be my 1st choice when i was ordering my food unless i have a sudden craving on it. OLDTOWN had changed its menu, offering more variety of foods with improved taste. Its kari mee might not be the best yet it should able to satisfy your appertite.

2. OLDTOWN Har Mee

Penanginese might criticise the taste but frankly speaking, the food appearance looked much more attractive and tasted better than before, especially the soup became much flavourful.

3. OLDTOWN Nasi Lemak

My mummy's favorite. Tangy santan rice with sweet-spicy sambal, fried groundnuts and ikan bilis, some timun slices and a piece of boneless chicken fillet. In fact, i didn't actually try it before although it is OLDTOWN signatured menu. It reminds me that i quite a long time didn't accompany mummy to have breakfast in OLDTOWN.

4.OLDTOWN Thick Bread with BlueBerry purees

No doubt, this is absolutely my liking. Slightly sweet BlueBerry purees topped on the thick soft bread, my source of happiness. (Grin)

5. OLDTOWN Jawa Mee

I don't like yellow mee, thus i changed it into meehoon. Tried my 1st Jawa Mee at the noodle stall near to my living place. OLDTOWN's jawa mee was different with that, in the sense of its gravy which was not that tomatoes-lish, thus less sourish and less thickening too. Overall, not bad.

6. OLDTOWN hot Chocolate and Milk-tea

I like hot chocolate especially during cold rainy days. Chocolate is well-known as a good mood booster due to its flavonoid content. Had my 1st glass of milk-tea at KimGarey, once tried, totally in love with it. So far, mostly the milk-tea i tried before tasted good, including this offered by OLDTOWN.

Rich Pappa

1. Kuey teow with fried Fucok

A bit plain but matched to my preference looking for light and less-oily menu. By the way, the fried fucok was nice, spongy and fragrant. Needless to say, fried food always taste good.

2. Rich Pappa's Cendol

I had not try it but it was recommended by a friend. In fact, i prefer those sold at small hawker stall by the Indians, cheaper and tasted good.

3. Rich Pappa's Nasi Lemak

I also had not try it but according to my friend, it totally couldn't fight with OLDTOWN. So, remember to make your choice wisely when you are searching for NASI LEMAK.

SUBWAY

1. Honey oat bread with seafood and crab

This was the 2nd time i tried SUBWAY, still in love with it. This time, my combination was honey oat bread, the bread texture was a bit harder than other bread options but still match to my liking because it was BREAD. (haha) My filling was the saturday's specialty seafood and crab with mustard and chili as my sauces. A bit disappointed with the sauces but overall it was still tasted good. Looking for another combination when hagging out with friends next time.

I seldom try mamak food. My 1st try of mamak mee was introduced by my bro a few years ago at a mamak stall in my hometown. It was always signatured with its spicyness, blackish springy noodles and fragrant wok-scent.

1. Char-siew Wanton Mee

Heard that the wanton mee was not bad, thus had it with friend as breakfast few days ago. Thumb-up. The black soy sauce matched perfectly with the egg-based noodles and the soul of the noodle, the char-siew was heavenly good. Roasted crusty outer skin layer with juicy tender inner meat. (yumyum)

1.Home-made Popiah

I like to eat popiah, still remember last time when i was small, often visted to aunty's house during weekend to have popiah feast. Applied lots of redish sweet sauce on the popiah skin then wrapped it with lots of taugeh, sengkuang, taugua, lettuces, egg-slices, spring onion and groundnuts. Stuffed my little tummy for three of it each time. This stall's popiah ingredients were quite similar to the ingredients i mentioned but it filled up with glutinious rice, was a bit special for me.

moist and juicy..

tasted similar as chicken spagetti but drier..

slightly hot and spicy..

al-dente angel hair with great scently aroma..

thick cheesy sauce with some button mushrooms and chicken breast meats..

absolutely matched to my liking..

must try especially for those cheese-lover!!

黄是家族姓氏，

文是我这代的排字，

君则是婆婆一直想替孙子按的名字，

等了三年后，终于用得着了。。嘻

这是原本老爸老妈想替我取的名字，

不过，总觉得文慧这个名字不太适合自己，

太女生了，

而自己个性比较男子头，

文君这名字比较中性，

比较适合自己。。嘻

婆婆果然没替我取错名字，

姜果然是老的比较辣。。

瑾瑾

这是老妈给我取的小名，

有时老妈会拉长只叫单字，

两个字的音差这么远，

老妈干嘛这么叫我，

其实她也不晓得，

我最新的花名，是之前替我批改毕业论文的教授替我取的，

不明白她为什么总记不了我的全名，

结果搞得其他的教授，甚至是系友们都这样叫我。。

起初，不太喜欢教授这样叫我，

因为乍听之下，好像在叫我笨蛋(福建话)，

不过，听久后，觉得阿BOON这名字也挺亲切的，

渐渐喜欢这个新名字了。。哈

我的绰号，

因为实在是太太善忘了，真的像老太婆，

所以系友为我取这个绰号。。咳，老了，头脑不中用。。

我的洋名，

不过不常用，

通常兼职的时候，这个名字才会用得着。。

其实是从瑾瑾这小名拼出来的，

用于e-mail 和部落格，

因为现在合作的教授名字的缩写和我一样是BK，

为了避免混淆，她叫我用这个简称，

A great Monday..
Worked at UKM office located at Grand Season Hotel from 9 am till 3.30 pm..
(just knew that we had a office at the hotel, anyway better than don't know at all.. *HaHa*)

Facing the desktop doing my MASO mailing..
During lunch break, followed Jyn Eiin, my super senior, the person who I was helping for the MASO stuff, to have lunch at a vegetarian restaurant nearby..

Found out that the vegetarian shop had been taking over by another uncle recently..
Not only that the food price was reasonable but the dishes were tasted good as well..
Besides, another great news is that unlike the previous aunty, the uncle who in charge of this vegetarian shop is extending his business hour till night..
In other words, this means that I have a new place to visit whenever I am lazy to prepare my dinner..

(*Yeah Yeah*)

According to Jyh Eiin, the cooked dishes portion, such as noodles and fried rice was quite big, for girls can actually order one plate and share together..
She recommended black pepper kuey tiew to me..
In fact, the restaurant signature dish was the vegetarian bak kut teh, recommended by Chui Ling, the 4meals1day host..
Planned to try it if there is someone who interested to have dinner together with me in future..
(So, is there anyone who want to try it as well?? Let's go.. *KeKe*)

After back from work, I rushed home to take my bath and prepared to go out as I promised to have dinner with my old friends..
Reached my destination, Star Hill-Jogoya sharp at 5pm..
Hanged around Star Hill while waiting for my friends to be arrived..
Visited the luxurious restaurants at the ground floor and classic art galleries at the top floor..
Suddenly realized that it has been quite a long time I didn’t touch my brushes and BUNCHO colors..
I remember that during the long school holidays, I will sure spent the whole day stay at home to do my drawing..
No doubt, I like drawing and hand-crafting..
(Don't be surprise when you find out that i spent up to 12 hours for just a piece of art.. This is the way my good patience is being trained.. *HoHo*)

Star-Hill Jogoya

Finally met up with my friends after 30 minutes time of waiting..
Time to have our food feast..
All of us were satisfied with our dinner..
I enjoyed the fresh steamed fish and the seafoods..
I liked the spongy prawns both uncooked and sweet-sour styles..
I liked the deep fried black soy sauce abalones..
I missed the unagi..

It was absolutely the happiest thing for me, this greedy sweet-tooth to indulge with the great variety of desserts offered..
My first vote was toward the black sesame mochi..

(Yummy!! Yummy!! Yummy!!)

Followed by mint chocolate cake, cheese potato bread crumb, dark chocolate pudding, green tea tiramisu, kiwi cheese cake, japanese cheese cake, black forest…

At the same time, we were crazily taking photos as well because we had a good photographer, Lydia with her nice-shot CANON camera..
(For sure, we had to use her camera wisely, agree?? But seems like we were a bit over, 320 photos in 21/2 hours.. crazy!! *grin*)

Sunway Kim Garey
After Jogoya, our next destination was going to Sunway pyramid to meet up with Alap..
(This aas Alap great pleasure to have five lengluis accompanying him to have his dinner.. *HaHa*)
Had some drinks at Kim Garey..

Since I was craving for bread for so many days, I grabbed this opportunity to search for my dream bread at Sunway Piramid..
However, most of the bakery shop was preparing to close, thus leave few options of bread for me to choose..

(*sigh*)
Anyway, at the end, I managed to buy a bread for myself..
Irresistible scent of freshly baked bread smell..

Every gathering will sure reach the time to say goodbye..

(*sad* Looking forward for our next meet up..)

Although we lost the direction on the way back from Sunway, at the end I still managed to direct her the right way back to my condo form Damansara successfully..

Sunday again..

Woke up quite late (9.30am) today if compared to usual (7.30am) as slept quite late yesterday (3am)..

Had a simple breakfast, 3-in-1 regular Nescafe (a must to make me stayed alert) with a packet of IKO biscuit..

Sat in front of my laptop and started my work at 10am..

Re-checked all the letters i typed yesterday..

Typed the programme list for MASO conference..

Took a short break around 12pm to cook my lunch..

After a long consideration of thinking what to eat for my lunch, i decided to create my own dish with the ingredients i had (I always have such abnormal creativity).. *grin*

..Steamed bird-nest beehoon with Prego tomato basil sauce and egg..

I like the beehoon texture, soft and fine..

Surprised to find out that the beehoon was totally matched well with the sauce..

The added egg enhanced the flavour..

Cooked a big pot of herbal tea, think of giving some to WeiWen when meeting him tomorrow for project discussion..

Anyway, hope he has voice to discuss the project with me together with the juniors..

*Huuu* I had to handle the whole big project, is a challenging task for me but I am ready for it..

Finally, i finished all the MASO stuffs around 2.30pm..

Basically, i used up 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) to settle the MASO stuffs..

Needless to say, i was super-tired (Time to be pig)..

After taking an hour nap, i went for an hour gym..

Had a great feeling after sweating a lot..

Continued my exercise by doing some housechores: sweeping and mopping my room as well as the living room..

Time for dinner..

Again, took me quite some time to think about what to eat..

I ended up making a bowl of hot NESTUM cereals with milk and had a cup of honey vineger pudding made by myself on Saturday afternoon..

Enjoyed watching GUESS GUESS GUESS and HO CHIAK while having my dinner..

Long time didn't watch TV programmes..

After taking bath, supposed was the time for me to start my other work..

But felt like wanted to let myself resting down for the night..

*Haha* that is why i am updating my blog now..

Tomorrow will be a busy day again..

Morning need to go to Grand Seasons hotel to help Jyh Eiin with MASO stuffs..

Afternoon will have a discussion with WeiWen and juniors regarding the project stuffs..

Night will have dinner with Friends at Jogoya..

This is the 5th time i visit this restaurant (KeeYuan is wondering what is so special about the restaurant.. My answer is not the food which able to tie my heart, in fact, is the people who i dine together with who able to make me visit this restaurant again.. i like to spend time with friends..)

Looking forward for tomorrow gathering..

Tomorrow starts a great week again !!! *Smile*

Spent my saturday night at VINTRY for celebrating a la's advanced birthday..

VINTRY primarily is a wine shop and bar, located at Medan Damansara..

Well, frankly, I am not really prefer red wine..

I rather prefer white wine, so I just tried half glass of the red wine and ended up ordering a glass of watermelon juice..

Besides wines, the roast pork is definitely their specialty here..

Exciting TRANSFOMER 2..

the robots were so awesome..

Funny ICE AGE 3..

the graphic was tremendously nice..

i like the cuttie Peach little elephant and the 3 little kiddy dinasaurs..

Both movies were worth to be watched at cinema..

I was really enjoyed..
